Annual monitoring report 2006-07

The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 requires every local planning authority to produce an Annual Monitoring Report (AMR) for the previous financial year. This report assesses:

  • how much national and local planning policy objectives are being achieved, and whether any other major effects of planning policy have emerged
  • progress on the Local Development Document production schedule in the Local Development Scheme
As evidence builds over time, the Annual Monitoring Report will help identify the need to improve, supplement or replace planning policies and/or development plan documents. It also signals whether the Local Development Scheme needs to be updated.
