Energy Strategy
The Council has to fulfil obligations in relation to energy use in its service delivery. Obligations which are driven by the UK's climate change programme.
The
energy strategy
, agreed by the Council in April 2002, sets out how the Council will respond to these challenges.
This document proposes an energy strategy for the Council that will allow it to progress towards lower energy use and greater energy efficiency, to the benefit of all in the borough.
It seeks the public commitment to the strategy by Members of the Council, senior officers and staff as a means of reducing the cost, consumption and pollution linked to energy use associated with delivering Council services.
