Mental Health Awareness training

 
If you are a professional working with children and young people, and would like to learn how to recognise mental health problems and promote emotional well-being, this training course is for you.

Acquiring some of the concepts and skills relating to child and adolescent mental health will enable you to become more confident in your work.

The one-day Mental Health Awareness training course emphasises:

  • mental health promotion
  • early intervention
  • prevention.

About the course

The course is FREE, and provides both practical and theoretical instruction.

You will get an overview of children's mental health and learn:

  • to think about mental health issues

  • about the impact of mental health issues on children and families

  • the ways to begin addressing some of the issues in your day-to-day work
The course is multi-agency, which gives participants a chance to share experiences.

Course providers

Two training providers - University of Greenwich and The Place2Be - will be working with Greenwich Council to deliver the course.

Training venues

The training will be conducted at either the Greenwich Professional Development Centre (GPDC) or Charlton Athletic Football Club, depending on the training date.

You can look up available dates and venues, and sign up for your preferred training session using our online Mental Health Awareness course booking form.

Evaluation

Participants will get to evaluate the training and give feedback and make recommendations about course content and future training needs.
