Top marks for School Travel Plan
Henwick primary school has won top marks from Transport for London for its school travel plan.
The school in Henwick Road, Eltham, was granted TFL’s Outstanding Level of accreditation for their School Travel Plan on July 9.
What is a school travel plan?
Travel plans encourage schools across London to seek practical solutions to reduce the number of cars dropping children off at school. TFL helps with support, advice and practical help, such as:
funding for cycle parking
road safety improvements
setting up car sharing schemes.
Schools are recognised for their achievements in setting up travel plans at three stages of accreditation - Outstanding, Higher Standards and Sustainable.
Last week a further 11 Greenwich schools were recognised - one school received the Higher Standards award while the others received the Sustainable accreditation.
