Three local schools have been praised by Ofsted during recent inspections.
Crown Woods
Crown Woods school in Eltham was inspected on 2 and 3 October. It was described as an effective school that has "laid a strong platform for further improvement" because of good leadership and management. The school was noted as having made "a marked improvement since the last inspection".
Personal development, teaching and learning, curriculum, care, guidance and support were all described as "good". Students were described as responding with "hard work and good behaviour" to well planned lessons whilst the school’s inclusive atmosphere was described as making students feel they belong.

Cherry Orchard Primary
Cherry Orchard Primary in Charlton was inspected on 27 and 28 September. It was described as an effective school where pupils learn and play happily together.
The school was described as providing a "calm and welcoming environment where pupils feel happy and secure." Pupils’ personal development was described as "good" and inspectors noted that pupils enjoyed coming to school and liked most of their lessons.

Henwick Primary
Henwick Primary in Eltham was inspected on 27 and 28 September. It was described as a "good" school in which pupils enjoy learning, are happy and well cared for.
Inspectors also noted the headteacher’s drive to raise standards has also led to improvements in teaching. This contributes to above average standards at the end of year 6.

Cllr Jackie Smith, Greenwich Council Cabinet Member for Children and Young People’s Services, said:
