Family Learning Week, 7 - 15 October

Gather the family together and take part in a range of fun-packed activities during Family Learning Week.
There will be 67 events taking place across the borough from 7 to 15 October. So grab your granny, call the kids and decide what you want to do.

Lots to discover

Events get going with a free gala opening at the National Maritime Museum on Saturday 7 October from 12pm until 4pm.

Then throughout the week you will have the chance to enjoy lots of activities that relate to this year’s special theme of Discovery.

Children and adults will be able to explore a variety of workshops, including:

  • story-telling
  • rhyming
  • musical instruments
  • cooking
  • hair-braiding
  • jewellery-making
  • singing and many more.
There will also be theatre performances and planetarium shows.

See the full programme of events in our Education and learning section.

The week will finish with a grand finale on Sunday 15 October at Charlton House.

Getting the most out of school

Councillor Jackie Smith, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People’s Services, said:

"All the evidence shows that children get so much more out of school when the whole family, parents, grandparents, other relatives and carers join in and give their support. Family Learning Week here in Greenwich will give plenty of tips and ideas to help you on your way."
