Woolwich Winter Wonderland 

 
Woolwich Winter Wonderland makes a welcome return in December. The month-long series of weekend events is sure to put you in the festive mood.

What's going on?

The fun starts in Woolwich Town Centre on Saturday 2nd December at 1pm. Activities will include:

  • on-stage entertainment
  • the ever popular lantern procession
  • live reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh.
A breathtaking fireworks display will then finish off the afternoon in style.

Weekend sports festival

Over at Royal Arsenal Gardens between 12pm and 3pm on both Saturday and Sunday, a street sport festival which will help introduce 11-19 year olds to alternative ways of staying healthy and keeping physically active.

There will be a variety of free activities such as:

  • climbing
  • skateboarding
  • BMX riding
  • street dancing
  • dj-ing.

More to come

More activities will take place over the following three Saturdays, on December 9, 16 and 23. 

Highlights will include craft sessions where you can make Christmas decorations to brighten up your home, and a fine selection of street entertainment from some of Europe’s leading street performers.

Acts will include:

  • Gandini Juggling Project
  • Cirque Bijou complete with stunning fire dancers
  • Splott Brothers Yuletide Café
  • London premiere of The Star Bubble.

Christmas shopping

You can also use the weekend to stock up on your Christmas shopping. Woolwich Town Centre offers a convenient alternative to the big shopping centres - the fine selection of shops gives you the opportunity to pick up presents without the hassle of having to venture too far afield.

Greenwich Council Leader Chris Roberts, said, "Woolwich Winter Wonderland is one of the many festive highlights in the borough. It is just a small part of the Council’s commitment to supporting businesses in the Woolwich Town Centre and helps get the festive season underway."
