Are you ready for the start of the festive season?
It all kicks off in Eltham at 4pm on Thursday 23 November with the annual Eltham Lights Up celebration.
For the eighth year running, Eltham High Street will be lit up with a colourful and lively display of:
- floats
- street entertainment
- music
- fireworks.
Lights and entertainment
The Eltham lights will be switched on at 6pm, which will coincide with the start of the parade. This will be followed by a firework display at 6.45pm.
There will be a stage at the side of St Mary's Community Centre showcasing local talent and roving street entertainers will put on shows in the crowd.
Lantern display
Local residents and pupils from many of the borough’s primary schools will be displaying hundreds of lanterns that they have been making in the run-up to the event.
This year's lanterns will take on a festive theme, highlighting the glamour and glitz of the festive season.

"This year’s event will also give visitors the chance to talk to the Council about the services we provide, and help us to further improve them to meet the needs of local residents."
