Visitors from Hong Kong
Greenwich's housing policies are now reaching international acclaim. We were recently visited by eight senior officers from the Hong Kong Housing Authority who wanted to learn all about our housing schemes.
The Hong Kong Housing Authority is the main provider of public housing in Hong Kong. They wanted to come and visit Greenwich after hearing about our:
What happened?
The visitors were welcomed to the borough by Councillor Peter Kotz, Cabinet member for Housing and Neighbourhood Renewal.
They were given a presentation that covered information on:
- strategic planning
- key policy issues in housing management
- the key housing market in the UK.
It also gave the visitors an opportunity to review issues that typically confront public housing agencies.
The trip finished with a tour of some of the key housing sites in the borough including:
- O2
- Greenwich Millennium Village
- New Haddo
- Kidbrooke
- Historic Greenwich.
Indication of success
Councillor Peter Kotz, said, "This is a real indication of the success that Greenwich has enjoyed in this area.
"We were very happy to welcome the Hong Kong Housing Authority to the borough and hope the knowledge they gained from their visit will benefit them in the future.
"It is now important that we move on and continue to develop and improve our services."
