Helping to build a Disability Equality Scheme

Are you disabled, or do you provide support for someone who is disabled? Do you live, work or study in Greenwich?

The Council would like to know your views about public services and access to public services in Greenwich. We want to know what you think about the services we already provide, what services you think we should provide, and how you think things should change in future.

Questionnaire

You can let us know your views by filling in our questionnaire and returning it to us by Friday 29 September 2006. The questionnaire is designed to give you the chance to express your views about all our services and how they might be improved.

You are also welcome to attend our consultation event and the Greenwich Association of Disabled People's (GAD) Annual General Meeting on Monday 18 September 2006 at The Forum @ Greenwich in Trafalgar Road to share your views.

Committment to equality

Cllr Kanta Patel, Cabinet Member for Social Inclusion and Justice said: "Since the Disability Discrimination Act was introduced in 1995, the Council has taken important steps towards achieving equality, but we recognise that there is a still a long way to go before disabled people have full access to services. Greenwich Council is firmly committed to achieving equality for disabled people.

I do hope you can find time to complete the questionnaire. You are also warmly invited to attend our consultation event on Monday 18 September."
