Our Mayor, Harry Singh, at the Great Get Together
Residents shared their views with councillors – and had a great time too – at the first of Greenwich Council’s Great Get Togethers, which kicked off in Woolwich on Saturday, 1 July.
Huge success
The event – one of many summer events across the borough – was a huge success. Entertainment played a big part, with lively line-ups planned for all the events.
There were stalls where residents could find out what the Council is doing and feed back their views. A 'big talk' café area gave residents a chance to talk to their local Councillors, the Police and the Fire Brigade.
Residents have their say
Councillor Chris Roberts, Leader of Greenwich Council said: "There's a lot happening in Greenwich and we want to make sure that everyone who lives and works in the borough is able to keep up to date. Fun days out for all the family give residents the chance to meet with Council staff and their local Councillor and have their say about the things that matter to them."
More to come
The Great Get Togethers will continue throughout the borough in different venues.
If you would like to talk to Councillors about local issues, do come down to one of these events. If not, come anyway, and just have fun!
