Handy new service for the elderly

A new Handyperson Scheme will be launched this month to help with odd jobs for the elderly and disabled.
The scheme aims to do handy and essential jobs around the house so you don’t have to.

These include:

  • rearranging rooms and furniture
  • mattress turning
  • changing light bulbs
  • unblocking sinks
  • taping down carpets
  • repairing gates
  • minor plumbing jobs.
The scheme is free of charge for those that are in receipt of Means Tested Benefits, Attendance Allowance or Disability Living Allowance.

The aim to reduce the chance of elderly residents faling victim to rogue traders.
