Resolve to recycle

How are the New Year's resolutions going?

If you failed to join the gym and couldn't face the diet, why not try read our recycling tips and help the environment instead?
You could:
  • Try slimming down your bin - reduce the amount of rubbish bags you throw out each week by increasing your recycling.

  • Make some space next to your bin for a recycling container – it’s as simple to recycle as it is to throw away.

  • Pledge to get one more person involved in recycling this New Year – remind your neighbour, a colleague or another family member how easy it is to recycle.

  • Remember that you can now include more unusual items in your recycling collections -   perfume jars, toilet rolls, pet food cans or aerosols etc.

  • Get a compost bin for your garden and food waste.  All the tea bags, egg shells or vegetable peelings you create can make your very own compost to use on your garden or balcony plants.

It's so easy!

Councillor Alex Grant, Greenwich Council’s Cabinet Member for the Environment, says: "Recycling is one of the simplest ways for residents to help protect the environment. In Greenwich, it’s now easier than ever to recycle, as the Council’s collection service allows residents to place five types of material into a single bin."
