Starting blocks for Olympic hopefuls

Why not treat yourself to a slap-up meal and help young athletes in the borough to achieve their Olympic dreams?
Greenwich Starting Blocks is a new charity being established to support local athletes. It is organising a number of exclusive dining evenings to raise money before 2012.

When and where?

The first dinner will be held at 7pm on 16 January 2007 and will take place at the Officers Mess at Woolwich Barracks.

Diners will be treated to:

  • a champagne reception
  • music
  • the chance to meet leading lights from the borough and around the capital.
During the night, guests will be able to view the Barrack’s magnificent collection of historic silver and be entertained with opera and after dinner speeches.

Tickets are available to anyone and cost £150 each. To make a booking or find out further information, please contact Dee Delany using the details on the right.

Become a Greenwich Ambassador

Guests attending the event will be able to join a special Diners Club and become Greenwich Ambassadors.

Greenwich Ambassadors will enjoy two dining events a year in iconic settings in Greenwich and can sign up towards supporting sponsorship packages.

Funds raised will go towards supporting sporting clubs and individuals in the borough.
