Community text back

Ever wonder how you coped without a mobile phone? Well soon you will be able to keep up to date with Council and community information by text.
Over the coming months we will be launching a text service where you can register to receive information from us to your mobile phone. Sign up now and be one of the first to take part.

How do I sign up?

You can register your number with us until Sunday 17 December.

To do so, please text the word:

GREENWICH
to
82222

What information will I get?

When the service is up and running, the information you will receive could include details on:
  • community events
  • important Council news
  • school term dates reminders etc.
In time we hope to make this a two-way service so that you will be able to request services and report incidents to us by text.

How does it work?

  • You will be charged your standard network rate to send us a message.

  • You will receive a short text in return to confirm we have received your message and to provide you with further information. This and any other messages you receive from us will be free.

  • If you then decide you do not want to take part simply text ‘GREENWICH STOP’ to 82222.

Please note:

To conduct research into this service a member of staff might call you for your comments.

Your phone number will not be used for any other purpose by Greenwich Council and will not be given to any other organisation.
