The stars
Star ratings are given by independent assessors using a nationwide quality assessment scheme. The ratings (the more stars or diamonds the better) reflect the standard of:
- accommodation
- cleanliness
- ambience
- hospitality
- service
- food.
Quality standards
On our web pages, you will find the name of rating agency in brackets after the stars.
If you see "AA - Budget" beside the ratings on our site, it means that AA has rated the hotel under its budget hotels category. A few of the hotels we have listed are awaiting inspection by the AA.
