Race walking

An athletics long distance event, race walking has strict rules that make it different from running:

  • at any time at least one foot must have contact with the ground
  • the supporting leg must not be bent at the knee from when the foot first touches the ground until the leg passes below the body.
Just the sport for you? Our local athletics club offers race walking too.
