Marathon runners Marathon: A 26-mile street party
Think Marathon, think Greenwich. Every year, Greenwich is the focus not just for marathon runners, but also for thousands of spectators who line the route and millions of television viewers around the globe.
The Marathon starts in the Greenwich Royal Park and Blackheath areas of the borough from about 9am and follows a route taking in many of the area's most well-known attractions.

Highlights of the route include:

The Marathon finishes after 26.2 miles on The Mall in central London.

Children will also be running in the Mini London Marathon - a 2.65-mile race. The young runners will assemble at Old Billingsgate in central London to start their journey along the Adidas Mini London Marathon course and finish in The Mall.
