Getting youngsters into sport

The adiZone has been funded by Adidas as part of their £1 million commitment to getting young Londoners participating in sport. Adidas are the Official Sportswear Partner of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

There are adiZones in each of the five Host Boroughs - Greenwich, Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Newham and Waltham Forest. The adiZones will serve local communities as spaces where young people can meet socially whilst being encouraged to play sports.

A team of adiZone Activators will engage local communities, schools and sports clubs. Local coaches will be encouraged to attend the sites where they will be able to spot talent and discuss opportunities with local clubs and sporting organisations.

Each adiZone will be maintained by the local Borough and it is hoped this first investment from adidas will be matched by the government backed 'National Sports Foundation' to further develop the surrounding area with sporting facilities.
