Travelling to the Heritage Centre

You can get to the Heritage Centre on foot from the Royal Arsenal pier (two minutes), Woolwich town centre or Woolwich Arsenal train station (five minutes), the Woolwich Foot Tunnel (about ten minutes) and from the Thames Barrier (30 minutes).

Coming by car or public transport? Here's how:

Train

Woolwich Arsenal from Cannon Street, Charing Cross and London Bridge. Five-minute, signposted walk from Woolwich Arsenal to the Heritage Centre.

Bus

Bus routes 472, 161, 96, 180 stop in Plumstead Road outside the Royal Arsenal. Bus routes 53, 54, 422, 380 stop in Woolwich town centre, five minutes' walk away from the Heritage Centre.
London Buses journey planner

Tube

Jubilee Line to North Greenwich, then 15-minute bus ride to Woolwich (161, 422, 472) to stops A & B.

Ferry

The Woolwich ferry is a free river crossing service operating between North Woolwich and Woolwich. A ten-minute signposted walk from the Woolwich end takes you to the Heritage Centre.

Car

There is car parking available at the Royal Arsenal, but due to on-going works this is subject to change.  Please call 020 8854 2452 for further information.  Additional parking is available in Woolwich town centre.

Parking spaces for disabled visitors are available closer to the Heritage Centre.  If you require a disabled space please telephone in advance of your visit.
