Application form and renewals

 
Fill out the application form below and return it with:

  1. a passport sized photo of yourself
  2. proof of a qualifying benefit if you are applying for the GreenwichCard Higher Saver
  3. your payment.
There are three types of GreenwichCard, so you can choose the one that suits you:

  • Standard GreenwichCard
  • GreenwichCard Higher Saver
  • Leisure centre membership

Standard GreenwichCard

This costs £2 for the whole year and is available to all Greenwich residents.

GreenwichCard Higher Saver

Costs just £1 annually and is available to:
  • over 60s
  • students
  • young children
  • residents receiving benefits such as:
Income support, Housing benefit, Council Tax benefit, Disability living allowance, Jobseekers allowance – income based only, Working tax credit, Incapacity benefit, Severe disablement allowance and those with a current NHS prescription exemption certificate on grounds of low income.

How to pay for your GreenwichCard

You can pay by cheques or postal order which should be made payable to 'Greenwich Council'. Submit your application by post to:

Leisure centre membership

This costs from £30.70 for the whole year. Ideal for residents who use leisure centres in Greenwich. All GreenwichCard Higher Savers and junior cardholders automatically receive leisure centre membership.

How to pay for your leisure centre membership

Cheques should be made payable to 'GLL'. Submit your application at a leisure centre, or by post to:

We need the following with your application:

You must include a passport-sized photograph of yourself, proof of a qualifying benefit if applicable, and the appropriate fee. Please note: 

  • A separate application form and passport-sized photo is needed for each person applying.
  • When applying for GreenwichCard Higher Saver please provide current proof of a qualifying benefit. This could be a photocopy of benefit book or student grant.
  • If you want GreenwichCard Leisure Centre membership you should return your application form to a leisure centre. You will get a temporary card that gives you admissions discount straight away.
Application forms and information leaflets are available at all libraries and leisure centres

What happens next?

When we receive your application form, we will check that you live in Greenwich. If you are not on the Council's electoral register, we may contact you to provide additional proof that you live in the borough.

We will then send your GreenwichCard through the post.

Renewing your GreenwichCard

Your GreenwichCard is valid for a year. To renew your card, simply keep the photocard part and complete an application form, ticking the 'Renewal' box. Then follow the instructions for applying.

You will not need to provide a passport-sized photo of yourself if you are renewing straight away or if your membership has only lapsed for a short time.
