Part of the Old Royal Naval College, the Chapel of St Peter and St Paul – fully restored in the 1950s – is now in almost the same state as it was in 1789 when it opened.
Originally built in 1752, it was gutted by a fire in 1778, then rebuilt and reopened on 20 September 1789.
Why visit?
The chapel is a must for its architectural value. The Chapel of St Peter and St Paul is a perfect specimen of purely neoclassical design. This is unlike many churches, which mix different styles through time.
