Free education for 3 and 4-year olds

Free early education sessions are available for 3 and 4-year-olds across the borough. Sessions are flexible and are available for 15 hours per week, 38 weeks of the year.

Sessions are available in private and independent nurseries, pre-school playgroups, Children's Centres, nursery schools or nursery classes of primary schools. Also with some registered child minders who have been specially accredited.

(Please note that the offer available in most nursery classes of schools is for 12.5 hours per week).

Three-year-olds become eligible for sessions at nationally determined dates after their third birthday.
