Ofsted recommends that you and the childminder establish a contract of what you agree when you set up the childminding arrangement, and that you both hold on to a copy. This can be useful in sorting out misunderstandings or disagreements later on.
Most concerns can be resolved through discussion with the provider. If you cannot resolve the issue through discussion, you can make a formal complaint to them in writing or by email. All childminders must have a procedure in place for parents who wish to complain.
If your concern cannot be resolved after following the provider's complaints procedure or relates to an issue that you cannot discuss with the provider, such as a child protection concern, then you should contact Ofsted using the website link to the right.
Childminders agree not to discriminate on the grounds of gender, race, disability, age, religion, culture or linguistic background. If you think you are experiencing discrimination, please contact Ofsted.
