Briefings for prospective childminders and groupcare providers
If you are interested in becoming a registered childminder or groupcare provider, you must attend one of our briefings.
Briefings for prospective childminders
Childminding briefings are held at least six times a year and are run over two evenings, over a two-week period.
You must attend both sessions or you will not receive the application pack to become registered. The purpose of the briefings is as follows:
Day 1
provide information about the registration process
enable you to gain a better understanding of the National Standards for Childminding
Day 2
provide information about childminding
provide information about local support and the expectations of a registered childminder
enable you to decide whether or not to proceed with registration as a childminder
Briefings for prospective groupcare providers
Groupcare briefings are three-hour sessions run over one day.
The sessions are not mandatory, but it is strongly recommended that you attend if you are considering becoming a groupcare provider.
Further information
To book a place on either of the briefing sessions, contact the Families Information Service using the details to the right.
