Teach and take advantage of a world city

Children in class Teach: inspire children to learn
Teach in Greenwich and you can take advantage of everything a world city like London has to offer – yet still find green space and many different leisure pursuits right on your doorstep.

Celebrating diversity

Our schools value and celebrate diversity. We are working with schools to ensure they are led in a way that children enjoy and achieve and reach their fullest potential in a secure, happy and challenging environment.

In common with any city Greenwich faces significant challenges, but tackling inequality is a top priority in education as well as in the wider community. Successful regeneration, neighbourhood renewal and improving service performance - including raising levels of attainment - are creating the best opportunities for young people in the borough.

Transport connections

Greenwich has great transport connections. Central London is just a short journey away and is accessible by London Underground, train, Docklands Light Railway (DLR), or bus. Roads and cycle paths are good too.

East London is just across the river – cars can use the Blackwall Tunnel or the Woolwich Ferry, which also takes foot passengers.

There are two foot tunnels - one is next to the ferry and the other is in Cutty Sark Gardens, Greenwich.

Boats for Greenwich depart from Central London at regular intervals and London City Airport is just across the River Thames.

Local area

The borough of Greenwich is made up of lots of smaller towns - there is so much to see and do.

The town centre of Greenwich is a World Heritage site while the capital’s oldest Royal Park, Greenwich Park, offers panoramic views of London.
