Children missing education
If you know of a child of compulsory school age who:
is not on a school roll
is not being educated at home, privately, or in alternative provision
has been out of education for a substantial period of time (usually agreed as four weeks or more)
then please let us know by completing the
children missing education referral form
and sending it to:
Admissions Section
Riverside House East
Woolwich High Street
London SE18 6BU
You can also send it by fax to 020 8921 2182.
The importance of education
Our aim is to ensure that every child and young person has the opportunity to fulfil their potential. Receiving an education is a vital part of that.
We have a designated person responsible for receiving details of children found missing from education, and for arranging support for them through the most appropriate agencies.
Truancy and school attendance
If you are worried about the attendance of a child who is registered at a school, see the
School attendance and truancy
page.
Further information
If you have any queries or require additional information, please contact us using the details on the right.
