Computers in libraries

Old couple using PC in library Computers are available in all Greenwich libraries.
Public use computers are now in every library in Greenwich. Love them or hate them, the installation of the Peoples Network (PN) has proved to be an enormous success.

You need to be a member of Greenwich Libraries to use our computers.

How do I book a computer?

You can book a computer up to three days in advance, either in person or over the phone.

Bookings are held for ten minutes after the start time. After that time we may let the PC out to another user.

You can book only one session per day.

You can also drop in to a library at any time and ask at the counter if there is a free computer.

Is there any charge for using a computer?

There is no charge for using our computers. However, any user who has charges on his/her library account will be asked to clear the balance before being allocated a PC.

Printing costs 5p per A4 sheet.

How much time do I get on a computer?

You can use a PC for up to two hours at a time.

The PN closes down 15 minutes before the library shuts.

What software is available for me to use?

Each PC enables access to the internet, Microsoft Office 2000 and digital photo programmes.

Work should be saved on removeable media as each PC's hard drive is cleared each time the machine reboots.
