Information for parents
Libraries offer a number of services to help support parents.
Family matters
Our Family Matters collection helps you to help your children through difficult events.
All libraries have a Family Matters collection in the children’s library. The collections contain children’s picture books covering a number of social and emotional issues.
Parents or carers can share them with their children to help with difficult or new situations.
Topics include:
starting school
bullying
bereavement
divorce
visiting hospital
adoption
disabilities.
The collection also includes some adult non fiction titles on topics such as pregnancy, parenting etc.
The collection can be recognised by the blue logo stickers, and has its own bay of shelves in the Children's Library.
