Crown Woods’ cultural creators

Students from Crown Woods
Imaginiative pupils from  Crown Woods Secondary School created a special event at the Eltham Centre Library on Tuesday 8 July to unveil their creative work for the Young Cultural Creators project.

The group of Year 9 students have been working with famous children’s author Julia Green and the Children’s Society Records to come up with a variety of imaginative stories, poems and illustrations.

The event was introduced by Julia Green, it included opportunities to see the collection of work and listen to a group poem performance and speeches.

Marvellous achievement

Councillor Jackie Smith, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People said:

"I’d like to say congratulations to everyone for such a marvellous achievement and for all the hard work that has made this project a success.

"This event reminds us of the huge talent there is in our borough and why it’s important that we continue to offer projects like these to schools that provide new and exciting ways of learning and raise achievement for Greenwich’s children and young people."

The Young Cultural Creators project is supported by the Museum, Libraries and Archives Centre.
