New for 2009 - Diplomas

 
Young people
Diplomas are new educational programmes for 14-19 year olds.

They offer realistic learning about key employment sectors in the UK.

All Diploma programmes include:
  • principal learning, which develops
    knowledge, skills and attitudes
    appropriate for the sector
  • specialist / additional learning, which
    each student can choose from a range
    of qualifications to suit their own
    interests and aspirations
  • functional skills and personal, learning
    and thinking skills, which develop
    abilities for working in employment
    settings and for further study
  • project work, which involves
    independent research and enquiry.
  • work experience (a minimum of
    10 days).

The following Diploma programmes will be on offer in Greenwich in 2010:

  • Hair and Beauty
  • Hospitality
  • IT
  • Construction and the Built Environment
  • Society, Health and Development
  • Retail Business
  • Engineering
  • Sport and Leisure.
