If you want to make any alterations or improvements to your home, you must let us know first.

We will not refuse permission unless there is good reason, and we can give you advice on:

  • building regulations
  • planning permission
  • legal requirements.

What else should I know?

  • We will not give permission for lockable security gates or grilles if they will be a fire safety hazard.
  • Any work you carry out has to conform to conservation and building regulations.
  • If you carry out any work without permission and it is found to be unsuitable, you may be charged for the cost of removing or repairing it.
