The Council is responsible for most repairs to your home and to communal areas such as:

  • stairs
  • landings
  • door entry systems
  • communal lighting
  • communal drains
  • communal windows.
There are different timescales for different repairs.

Emergencies

In an emergency, outside office hours, you should contact the Council's emergency service on 020 8854 8888.

Ask for ID

Council workers do not visit residents without prior notice. We will contact you to make an appointment.

Council workers wear a corporate uniform and carry Council identification.

Companies working on behalf of the Council may have their own identification, but if residents are in any doubt they should ask for a telephone number they can call to confirm.
