FAQ
I'm disabled and need some adaptions made in my home, can the Council help?
Yes. The Housing Disability Team will assess what you need and organise for the adaptions to be made as soon as possible. This may be a simple handrail to help you get in and out of the path or a more major works such as intsalling a stairlift.
Council tenants will have these done free of charge, private tenants or homeowners can apply for a Disabled Facilities Grants to cover the cost.
For more information, go to the
Help for people with disabilities
section in Improve/adapt your home.
