Services for people with disabilities

 
This section details the help that is available for people with disabilities from our social services teams and local organisations.

The links in the menu to the left will take you to specific information on services for people with physical, sensory and learning disabilities.

Are you a carer?

Being a carer can be exhausting - sometimes all you need is a break.

If you look after an elderly, disabled or mentally ill adult and need a little time for yourself, we can help. See respite care for adults.

If you look after a child with special needs, we can arrange to look after your child for a few hours a day or during the holidays. See respite care for children.

Benefits for the disabled

There are a number of benefits you may be able to claim. Make sure you are aware of all your entitlements. Please see the benefits and grants section for details.
