There are a number of ways to access the talking books, newspapers and magazines that are designed to help meet your reading needs.

Greenwich library services

Greenwich library has a selection of books on cassette and CD, as well as large print books.

The Council's home library service is able to deliver books to people who cannot travel to their nearest library without assistance.

Greenwich Talking Newspaper

This newspaper is a digest of news reports and letters taken from local newspapers in Greenwich. It is free of charge and comes once a week as a 90-minute audiocassette tape.

London Sounds

London Sounds is a radio-style audio magazine recorded monthly.

Each 90-minute audiotape features original information, articles and interviews covering topical issues of special interest to the visually impaired community and subjects of general interest.

Talking Newspaper Association UK (TNAUK)

For a subscription fee, TNAUK provides a range of newspapers and magazines on tape, so that people who cannot see to read can still enjoy their favourite magazines and newspapers.

Big print

Big print is a large-print weekly newspaper  produced by the RNIB. It has:

  • national and world news and feature pages
  • sports coverage
  • the Big Print crossword
  • a popular weekly TV and radio listings supplement.

RNIB talking books service

The RNIB talking book service is a library of professionally recorded audio books, delivered through the post to your door. The service has more than 10,000 titles.

The Council is able to pay the subscription for people who are on the Council's register of blind and partially sighted people.
