Do you find it hard to see and hear? Are you having difficulties communicating?
Greenwich Social Services has a
Community Sensory Services
team with care managers who work specifically with deafblind people.
We also coordinate a
Communicator Guide
service to support people with combined hearing and sight loss.
Community Sensory Services team
Services available from the team include:
Advice, information and advocacy
Equipment - advice and provision
Mobility training
Support to develop appropriate communication skills
Other skills training - for example, safety in the kitchen and home environment
Community care assessment and care planning
Communicator guides
These are people who are trained to help deafblind people maximise their independent living skills, broaden their areas of experience and relieve isolation.
