FAQ
Can I claim benefits?
Yes there are many different types of benefits and whether you can claim them depends on your circumstances, such as your income, savings and household circumstances.
The benefits system is complex so can be very confusing. Many people miss out on extra weekly income because they do not know they can claim. Don’t just assume that you cannot get extra help – contact the
Welfare Rights Service
to check your position.
If you are unable to manage your own financial affairs due to your condition, an
appointee
can receive benefits for you and has a duty to ensure your affairs are managed properly.
