Alcohol support and treatment

Alcoholics Anonymous

Service: National fellowship of men and women with a desire to stop drinking. Call for details of local meetings.

Alcohol Concern

Service: A national agency for alcohol misuse which offers general information about alcohol and local alcohol advisory services. Lines are open between 9am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays.

Drinkline

Service: help for callers worried about their own drinking, support for family and friends of people who are drinking and advice to callers on where to go for help.

Drug support and treatment

Adfam
Service: direct support to families through publications, training, prison visitors’ centres, outreach work and help finding local support services.

Cocaine Anonymous
Service: a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences to help each other recover from addiction.

Service: able to refer people who want to address their use of cocaine to local self help groups.

Families Anonymous

Service: provides information about the location and timing of self-help groups around the country for the families and friends of people with a drug related problem. Lines are open on weekday afternoons between 1pm and 4pm.

Narcotics Anonymous

Service: able to refer people who want to stop using drugs to local self help groups.

National Drugs Helpline - Talk to Frank

Service: offers free and confidential advice about any drugs issue, all day, every day, and provides information about local drugs services.

Parents Against Drug Addiction
Service: supports families of drug misusers across the country.

Release

Service: Provides a 24-hour confidential help line for drug users, their families and friends and professionals. Offers counselling and advice on drug related health issues, welfare and legal issues.

Service: a national charity solely dedicated to the prevention of solvent and volatile substance abuse(VSA). Re-Solv operates throughout the United Kingdom.
