Support for people with drug and alcohol problems

If you are concerned about alcohol or substance misuse, our Drug and Alcohol Action Team can offer support, advice and information about treatment that is available in the borough, and nationally.

Our team is also able to help other drug and alcohol treatment professionals by providing information and contacts.

Who should I contact for help?

The links below or in the menu to the left will take you to information about agencies that can help you with detoxing and rehabilitation, one-to-one counselling, group support and finding GP services:

You can also download a pdf of our complete drug and alcohol support services directory here.

Use our online form

You can also contact our Drug and Alcohol Action team for information by filling in our online form. Just open the form, fill the relevant fields to make your information request, and submit it directly to our Drug and Alcohol Action Team.

Going into rehabilitation?

If you decide to enter rehabilitation and there is no one able to assist you, you may be available to get help through the protection team (read more in the Community Care section).

They are able to look after pets, property and financial matters if you are in hospital or care for a short period of time.

People living with HIV and AIDS

Confidential help, counselling and support is also available for anyone concerned about or living with HIV, AIDS, Hepatitis C and all aspects of sexual health. For more information, please visit our HIV/AIDS section.
