Youth support services workshops

 
A training course on youth support services is available in autumn 2008 for front-line staff and managers who have undertaken Common Assessment Framework (CAF) training.

Course description

The course will cover, over two half-day workshops, the following themes:

  • Integrated Youth Support Services (IYSS) workshop
  • Targeted Youth Support Services (TYSS) workshop
Through the workshops, we aim to:

  • extend our shared understanding of IYSS and TYSS
  • review progress to date
  • build on existing practice.
It will include the timely opportunity to:

  • review progress on the introduction of the CAF and the Lead Professional role
  • share feedback from front-line practitioners who have used the CAF.
This will enable us to identify and address any barriers to integrated working and to celebrate and learn from successful joint working.

Dates and times

Each workshop will run from 9am to 1.30pm, with lunch to follow. You will need to attend BOTH Workshop A and Workshop B.

Further information

The Training and Development Agency will facilitate the workshops. The agency has been comissioned by the Department for Children, Schools and Families to support local authorities in implementing IYSS and TYSS.

The effective introduction and delivery of IYSS and TYSS will be a critical factor in achieving the outcomes set out in the Children and Young People's Plan.

IYSS and TYSS are about improved ways of integrated working that are embedded throughout Children's Services and with our partners.
