Safety
Always remember the following tips to help keep your baby safe.
Carefully support the baby’s neck and head at all times.
When putting the baby down to sleep, lay baby on her/his back unless your doctor advises otherwise.
Avoid dressing the baby in clothes with ribbons, draw strings or braces as these may get caught around the baby's neck.
Do not leave the baby on a raised surface, he or she might fall.
Don’t smoke anywhere near your baby.
Keep hot drinks out of the way and do not pass them across the baby in case you spill them.
Keep small objects well out of reach. Check toys don't have any broken bits or loose parts.
Use the straps in prams and baby seats.
Use a rear facing baby seat when travelling in a car, but never in the front passenger seat if a passenger air bag is fitted.
Do not:
shake your baby
shout at your baby
handle your baby roughly
hit your baby.
