Need a helping hand?

This section aims to provide help with support and advice for parents, carers of children, looked after children and other young people in need.

If you are a parent struggling to cope, we are here to help you. You can contact our Children and Families staff using the contact information in the menu on the right.

Child at risk?

If you are worried about a child's safety, get in touch with Children's Services at the Council. You could be a child, parent, friend, relative, teacher, doctor, nurse, or anyone who is concerned about a child they know.

If you think a child is in danger right now, call the police immediately on 999.

Respite care

An eligibility assessment for respite care assistance is available for families who may require a respite break from their caring responsibilities. Please see our respite care pages for more.

Thinking about adopting or fostering?
