I need to leave a violent partner - where can I go?
If you are under immediate threat of violence, you should dial 999 for the police.
If you or your children are in danger from your partner, there are places you can go where you will be safe. Details can be found through Greenwich Women’s Aid (020 8333 2352) or the National Domestic Violence help line (0808 2000 247 - 24 hour freephone).
The Police Community Safety Unit located at
Woolwich Police Station
have officers trained in dealing with domestic violence. You can call in to see them or telephone on 020 8284 9865.
Greenwich Council has a clear housing policy on domestic violence, and you can get advice from your local housing office. If you are a private tenant or an owner-occupier, you can contact the
Housing Aid Centre
.
