Stopping the violence
The first step you need to take to stop the violence is to recognise that you are being abused and that you do not deserve it.
Things to remember
you are not alone... domestic violence is very common
you are never to blame... those who abuse their partners are responsible for their actions, violence is not a solution to domestic conflict
an assault is a criminal offence... your partner has no right to beat, verbally or sexually abuse you or your children
you have a right to live your life free of fear, humiliation, threats and abuse
do not try to ignore the violence as it usually gets worse over time and can cause fatal injuries
Don't put up with it - speak out today.
