Support and advice

You may want some information, just want someone else to know, or need to escape to somewhere safe. There are local and national agencies that can help, support and advise you.

Seeking refuge?

Contact a women’s refuge via the National Domestic Violence Helpline by calling 0808 2000 247 (freephone, 24 hours, typetalk, language line).

View a list of support agencies, or for more comprehensive information look at our resource pack on tackling domestic violence.

Need an interpreter?

If you need an interpreter, most agencies will try and arrange this as soon as possible. You have a right to say if you don't think the interpreter they provide is going to be fair or safe for you. Contact the National Domestic Violence Helpline using the details on the right.

Confidentiality

All agencies should tell you what they will do with the information you give them and make sure that you are in control of what happens and who knows.
