Anti-social behaviour

 
The Council strives to provide the highest quality housing service and to tackle any problems caused by anti-social behaviour.

What is anti-social behaviour?

Anti-social behaviour might include:

  • Verbal abuse including foul or offensive language, unreasonable or unfounded allegations
  • Harassment including persistent verbal or physical abuse of people or property by others
  • Intimidating behaviour from individuals or groups of people, including behaviour which inhibits a person from reporting to the police or Council
  • Noise nuisance including loud parties, shouting, noise from TVs, radios, hi-fis, musical instruments and burglar alarms
  • Motor vehicle nuisance including that associated with car repairs and abandoned vehicles
  • Drug, alcohol and solvent misuse related nuisance, including activity connected to the supply, use or misuse of illegal drugs, violence, noise, theft, verbal abuse, damage or drug 'litter'
  • Environmental nuisance including litter, graffiti, damage to communal areas and fly tipping
  • Animal nuisance caused by pets and other animals
  • Garden nuisance including overgrown gardens, rubbish or vermin, nuisance bonfires, lack of garden maintenance
  • Business nuisance including noise, fumes or other nuisance caused by businesses run from residential properties

How do I report a problem?

If you are a council tenant or leaseholder and are experiencing anti-social behaviour in your area, the first thing you should do is contact your local neighbourhood office and let them know about the problem.

Private sector residents should contact the Anti-Social Behaviour Team. Please telephone 020 8921 4411.

What happens next

Depending on the seriousness of the problem, we will contact you between one and three working days following a report.

Within 10 working days of your first contact we will agree an appropriate action plan with you.
