Health care
The health service is here to help if you feel ill. Small problems can grow into bigger ones if they are not attended to, so don't feel you are being a nuisance by asking for help with minor ailments.
Where to get help
You should be registered with a General Practitioner(GP) near your home.
There are alternatives to speaking to your GP such as:
pharmacists
NHS Direct
Greenwich Patient Advice and Liason Service.
For more information on these services and to find out where your nearest GP is, go to our
health and medical care section.
You can also find information on
health services for older people.
Mental health
Many of us experience depression at some time, often associated with challenges such as loneliness, ill health or bereavement.
Find out more about depression and where you can get help.
