Exercising your mind as well as your body is important. The old saying that it's never too late to learn is true, many people in their 50s - 80s take courses and gain degrees.
  • Learning will help keep you mentally active.
  • Choose a course to suit your interests, budget and skills.
  • Learn at home, college or a community centre.
  • Classes give you the opportunity to make new friends.

Choosing what to do

There are many activities and courses available, you just need to decide what you would like to do.

Greenwich Community College run a number of general interest programmes as well as courses leading to a qualification. Some courses are targetted at over 50s.

Use your local library

Libraries in the borough can offer you a range of books, talking books, videos and DVDs. Many in community languages. There is also a home library service if you can't get out because of an illness or disability.
