Youth grants

Young people, come up with an idea on how you can make a change to your community for the better, then apply for a grant to help you put your plans into action.

Thanks to two funds, the Youth Opportunity Fund (YOF) and the Youth Capital Fund (YCF), there are thousands of pounds ready and waiting for young people aged 13 to 19 who want to become actively involved in funding and running activities and facilities in their own neighbourhood.

The two funds are designed to work together, so one can aid an activity or project and the other can help with refurbishing premises and buying the equipment needed to run it.

The YOF offers grants between £500 and £5,000 and the YCF ranges from £500 to £10,000 and the projects must be aimed at groups of young people living in Greenwich.

How do I apply?

Wonderful chance to kickstart your ideas

Cllr Jackie Smith, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People’s Services, said: "This is a wonderful chance for young people and those who work with them to kick start their ideas and plans – a chance that’s too good to miss.

"These funds mean that local young people will be able to decide what is needed or how to improve current facilities in their own area, bringing about a positive change for young people.

"Don’t say, 'There’s nothing for young people to do', don’t ignore that great idea you had. This is a chance to change your community for the better."
